Starfield: What Happens to Cora if Sam Dies?

In Starfield's "High Price to Pay" mission, players face a tough situation where Sam, one of the characters, might die. This is a big deal because, up to this point, the team, called Constellation, seemed pretty unbeatable. A lot of players want to know what happens to Cora if Same Dies.

What Happens to Cora if Sam Dies?

When Sam Coe dies in the game, the immediate consequence is the sadness for his daughter, Cora. She is devastated by the loss, and her grief will turn into anger towards the player.

Can You Save Sam?

Starfield does give a way to keep Sam alive. If players plan well during this mission, they can stop Sam from dying. However, the mission is set up so that one of the four friends will die, and it's not set in stone who that will be. Barrett is always one of the possible characters who might die, and the other one is the character you're closest to in the game. This can be really sad, especially if you're really close to Sam and then he dies out of nowhere.

Where you decide to go in the game, either the Lodge or the Eye plays a big part in what happens to Sam. For example, if Sam is at the Lodge and Barrett is at the Eye, and you choose to go to the station, you'll come back to find out that Sam has died.

To make sure Sam stays alive, players can:

  1. Stay where Sam is when making this big decision.
  2. Build a close relationship with another team member before starting the "High Price to Pay" mission.

If you really want both Sam and Barrett to stay alive, you need to think ahead. You can go back to an earlier point in the game and work on your relationship with either Sarah or Andreja. This way, when it's time to make the big decision, it might be about one of them or Barrett, and Sam will be safe.
