Starfield: Temple Locations

In Starfield, temples will give you powers, which are unique skills that offer varied combat strategies. The initial temple granting the player's first Power is accessed through the primary storyline. Subsequent temples are optional, allowing players to explore them at their own pace.

Each temple is guarded by Guardians who are hostile, and defeating these guardians gives you quantum essence, a valuable item that boosts Starborn power regeneration for a minute.

To get new abilities, you must visit these temples and complete the challenges within. In the New Game Plus mode, revisiting these temples allows players to upgrade their existing powers. Once a power is unlocked, it can be assigned to quick slots in the inventory.

How To Find Your First Temple

During the "Into The Unknown" mission, which is the third quest given by the Constellation members, you'll be directed to Procyon III, where you can find your first temple to get your first power.

In most scenarios, the ruins of the temple are visible from the landing spot. If not you don't see it, use your scanner to detect the temple's location. The scanner will show a glitching effect, indicating the general direction of the temple. Once this mission is completed, you will be guided to find other temples within the system.

To continue unlocking powers, you'll need to explore more temples scattered throughout the universe. One way to do this is by undertaking the "Power From Beyond" quest, offered by Vladimir at the Eye station located in the Alpha Centauri system.

After successfully navigating a temple for Vladimir, return to him to receive more quests and temple locations. However, not all powers are from Vladimir's quests. Some will require you to search for yourself by exploration.

How to Unlock Temples

Inside the temple, you will find a portal that needs activation. This can be achieved by floating around the temple and collecting sparks of light that sporadically appear. A distinct sound effect will confirm successful activation. You will then be teleported outside, and a new power will be added to your inventory.

Finding More Temples

After the initial quest, Vladimir Sall will update you when he detects large grav anomaly readings corresponding to the Artifacts you return to The Lodge. This allows you to explore more temples via the "Power from Beyond" mission.

You can also manually explore and scan all planets and moons within Star Systems to identify anomalies. Upon entering a new star system, you may receive a notification if a temple is present on one of the planets.

In the New Game Plus mode, players have the option to skip the main quest to the exclusive "Among the Stars" mission. This mission directs players to Vladimir, who provides initial temple locations and reactivates the "Power from Beyond" mission. This mode also offers upgraded versions of powers, enhancing their effects and damage output.
