List of Outpost Modules in Starfield

An outpost module in Starfield is a customizable base camp or station that players can establish on any planet or in space. Think of it as a personal space where players can retreat, regroup, and strategize their next moves. It's not just a shelter; it's a hub of operations.

Outpost modules can range from living quarters and storage units to research labs and defense mechanisms. For instance, players might opt for a solar energy module on a sunlit planet or a defense turret in hostile territories, ensuring their outpost's efficiency and safety.

Outpost Modules need specific materials for construction. The materials needed differ for each module and can typically be collected while exploring a planet or moon. Alternatively, these materials can be acquired from vendors found in various locations. After constructing a facility, it's essential to ensure you have the materials for its operation.

Before constructing the outpost module, check for an adequate power supply. Place your Outpost Beacon and determine the power source for the planet. After setting up the power source, you can proceed to establish Extractors, which are your primary resource generators.

Types of Outpost Modules

  • Extractors: Facilities dedicated to resource generation, requiring power to function.
  • Power: Responsible for generating and supplying power to the outpost.
  • Storage: A place to keep various resources, be it solid, liquid, gas, or manufactured items.
  • Builders: Facilities that produce basic goods.
  • Robots: Enhance the production speed of both organic and inorganic resources, as well as manufactured items.
  • Crafting: Stations designed for research, upgrades, and other functions.
  • Defenses: Modules designed to protect your outposts.
  • Miscellaneous: Various improvements for your outpost.

EXTRACTORS

  • Water Vapor
  • Chlorine
  • Chlorosilanes

Extractors in Starfield Outposts are designed to harvest resources. They typically need power to function, making a power source essential. While there's no specific limit to the number of extractors you can have, the overall build limit is determined by the Outpost Beacon.

Various extractors are available, with some needing placement directly over a resource vein, like the Benzene extractor. When setting up an extractor in Build Mode, these veins become visible. Conversely, Atmospheric Extractors gather resources from the air and can be placed anywhere. However, each extractor has a set radius, preventing the placement of another extractor too close.

POWER

  • Solar Array
  • Wind Turbine
  • Fueled Generator

Power sources in Starfield Outposts generate and supply power. They vary in power output and fuel type. Initially, players have three power source options. The choice of power source should be based on the specific location or planet. Modules like Extractors and Defense units rely on this power.

STORAGE

  • Transfer Container
  • Storage (Solid, Liquid, Gas)
  • Warehouse - Small

Storage modules in Outposts hold various materials or resources. Depending on the type of resource – organic, inorganic, or manufactured – the appropriate storage unit should be chosen. The Transfer Container simplifies moving cargo between the outpost and your ship. Only one Transfer Container is allowed per outpost, but it can function as regular storage when linked to other units.

BUILDERS

  • Simple Fabricator

Builders in Starfield allow players to produce basic items. For instance, the Simple Fabricator can craft an Adaptive Frame, a key crafting resource. These builders require specific resources and power to operate.

CRAFTING

  • Industrial Workbench
  • Cooking Station
  • Pharmaceutical Lab
  • Weapon Workbench
  • Spacesuit Workbench
  • Research Lab

Crafting is pivotal in Starfield, enabling players to create weapons, armor, and more. Outpost crafting modules let players set up workstations for equipment and weapon upgrades. Gathering materials, from raw minerals to components from alien lifeforms, is essential. Research is also a significant component, allowing players to discover new modifications and ship enhancements. Crafting offers a wide range of possibilities, from weapon modifications to medical supplies.

DEFENSES

  • Ballistic Turret Mk 1
  • Tick Turret Mk 1
  • Laser Turret Mk 1

Defense modules in Starfield provide protection. They typically consume power and vary in their construction requirements. Proper power management is crucial to keep these defense modules operational in your outpost.
